Why SkillScorer exists

SkillScorer started as a way to score sports skills without spreadsheets getting in the way. It grew into something bigger once it became clear the same problem — assessing people's skills consistently, quickly, and fairly — shows up far beyond sport.

From one sport to more than 150 industries

The first version of SkillScorer was built for coaches scoring soccer players — a fast way to track skills across a squad without juggling spreadsheets or paper forms. The core of that idea turned out to generalise well: any organisation that needs to assess people against a defined set of skills, consistently, over time, has the same underlying problem.

SkillScorer now supports more than 150 industries — from Sports, Corporate, Trades, Healthcare, Education, Hospitality and Emergency Services to Mining, Aviation, Retail, IT, Agriculture, Legal and many more — with nearly a thousand disciplines between them. Each has its own terminology, default skills, and age or career-level groups, while running on the same reliable platform underneath.

How SkillScorer is built

Built to be used, not administered

Every design decision starts with the person doing the scoring — fast entry, clear layout, nothing that gets in the way of an assessment that should take minutes.

One platform, not one industry

The same underlying structure now serves more than 150 industries, from Sports, Trades, and Healthcare to Mining, Aviation, Retail, and IT — each with its own language, skills, and levels.

Your organisation, your terms

Skills, labels, and age or career-level groups start from an industry preset and stay fully editable — SkillScorer adapts to how you already work, not the other way round.
