How Early Childhood works in SkillScorer
Score
Each teacher in a faculty is scored on the Early Childhood skills in the Skills Matrix: tap a cell, type a score, and it saves itself.
Compare
Rank teachers, compare two side by side, or compare your faculties against each other to see exactly where the strengths and gaps are.
Track
Scores are kept year after year, so you can see who is improving and which Early Childhood skills need attention. Reports also follow each head of department's faculty.
Early Childhood scorecard: common questions
What skills does the Early Childhood scorecard include?
SkillScorer's Early Childhood scorecard covers 12 skills: Child Development Knowledge, Learning Environment, Family Engagement, Observation & Documentation, Inclusion, Safety & Wellbeing, Play-Based Learning, Routines and Transitions, Health, Hygiene and Nutrition, Behaviour Guidance, Educational Program and Planning and Cultural Competence. Each one comes with a written description of what it measures, and you can edit, rename, remove or add skills to suit your organisation.
How are teachers scored in Early Childhood?
Every teacher is scored from 1 to 10 on each skill (1 = Poor, 5 = Average, 10 = Elite), one faculty and year at a time. Scores autosave in the Skills Matrix, and the 18 built-in reports turn them into rankings, radar charts, skill gaps and year-on-year trends.
Which levels come with Early Childhood?
Early Childhood starts with these levels (called “Career Stage” in the app): Certificate III, Diploma, Early Childhood Teacher, Senior Educator and Director. They are just a starting point, so you can rename, reorder or replace them.
Can I change the Early Childhood skills and wording?
Yes. The skills, levels and labels are all editable per organisation. In education the app talks about teachers, faculties and head of departments, and you can change any of those words too.
