How Careers Advice works in SkillScorer
Score
Each teacher in a faculty is scored on the Careers Advice skills in the Skills Matrix: tap a cell, type a score, and it saves itself.
Compare
Rank teachers, compare two side by side, or compare your faculties against each other to see exactly where the strengths and gaps are.
Track
Scores are kept year after year, so you can see who is improving and which Careers Advice skills need attention. Reports also follow each head of department's faculty.
Careers Advice scorecard: common questions
What skills does the Careers Advice scorecard include?
SkillScorer's Careers Advice scorecard covers 12 skills: Career Interviewing, Labour Market Knowledge, Pathway and Course Planning, Resume and Application Coaching, Interview Preparation, Use of Assessment Tools, Employer and Industry Links, Working with Disadvantaged Clients, Group Workshops, Record Keeping, Ethics and Impartial Advice and Follow-Up and Outcomes Tracking. How are teachers scored in Careers Advice?
Every teacher is scored from 1 to 10 on each skill (1 = Poor, 5 = Average, 10 = Elite), one faculty and year at a time. Scores autosave in the Skills Matrix, and the 18 built-in reports turn them into rankings, radar charts, skill gaps and year-on-year trends.
Which levels come with Careers Advice?
Careers Advice starts with these levels (called “Career Stage” in the app): Graduate, Careers Adviser, Senior Adviser, Careers Coordinator and Manager. They are just a starting point, so you can rename, reorder or replace them.
Can I change the Careers Advice skills and wording?
Yes. The skills, levels and labels are all editable per organisation. In education the app talks about teachers, faculties and head of departments, and you can change any of those words too.
