How Tutoring works in SkillScorer
Score
Each teacher in a faculty is scored on the Tutoring skills in the Skills Matrix: tap a cell, type a score, and it saves itself.
Compare
Rank teachers, compare two side by side, or compare your faculties against each other to see exactly where the strengths and gaps are.
Track
Scores are kept year after year, so you can see who is improving and which Tutoring skills need attention. Reports also follow each head of department's faculty.
Tutoring scorecard: common questions
What skills does the Tutoring scorecard include?
SkillScorer's Tutoring scorecard covers 12 skills: Diagnosing Learning Gaps, Clear Explanation, Session Planning, Building Confidence, Homework and Exam Preparation, Study Skills Coaching, Adapting to Different Learners, Parent Communication, Subject Knowledge, Punctuality and Reliability, Use of Digital Tools and Child Safety Awareness. How are teachers scored in Tutoring?
Every teacher is scored from 1 to 10 on each skill (1 = Poor, 5 = Average, 10 = Elite), one faculty and year at a time. Scores autosave in the Skills Matrix, and the 18 built-in reports turn them into rankings, radar charts, skill gaps and year-on-year trends.
Which levels come with Tutoring?
Tutoring starts with these levels (called “Career Stage” in the app): Trainee Tutor, Tutor, Senior Tutor, Lead Tutor and Centre Manager. They are just a starting point, so you can rename, reorder or replace them.
Can I change the Tutoring skills and wording?
Yes. The skills, levels and labels are all editable per organisation. In education the app talks about teachers, faculties and head of departments, and you can change any of those words too.
